YOGA FOUNDATIONS

START WHERE YOU ARE

We get it. Yoga can be scary. One of the mental blocks of taking that first step is the intimidation factor. Specifically designed for beginners, this foundations workshop is an intro designed to help you feel more confident as a new yogi and to answer your questions about the foundations of the practice. Marie Anderson will guide you through the basics – from breathing and sun salutations to the most common standing poses and yin postures. After completing Yoga Foundations, you’ll have all the tools to throw a mat down in any of our basics classes (try out the New Student Special: $30 for 30 days!).

SPECIFICS

Yoga Foundations covers the intro to yoga: fundamentals of the yoga philosophy, how to breathe, and linking that breathing to each pose. You will learn, step-by-step, the foundational postures including modifications or adjustments to fit your needs and abilities. Please wear exercise clothing that allows for comfortable movement, avoid eating at least one hour prior to class, and arrive 15 minutes early with a water, towel and yoga mat. Mat and towel rentals are available at the studio.
